How a Flutter mobile platform gave guardians secure, real-time access to student academic records, announcements, and communication — closing the gap between institutions and families.
LimuCheck is a mobile application developed to strengthen communication between educational institutions and student guardians — giving parents direct, secure access to academic updates and announcements.
LimuCheck was built to close a familiar gap in education: guardians often feel disconnected from their student's academic life. Important updates get lost, announcements arrive late, and parents are left without a reliable way to stay informed.
The platform provides parents with direct access to student information, academic updates, announcements, and communication channels — creating a more transparent and connected educational experience.
As the lead mobile developer, I was responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the mobile application while collaborating closely with backend services and administrative systems to ensure every piece worked together seamlessly.
A cross-platform mobile front end backed by a robust API layer, with the tooling needed to ship and maintain a production-grade app.
Educational institutions often struggle to maintain effective communication with parents. Information such as announcements, academic updates, and student-related notices may not always reach guardians in a timely manner.
The challenge was to create a secure and user-friendly platform that would allow guardians to stay informed while ensuring that student information remained protected and accessible only to authorized users.
LimuCheck was developed as a centralized platform designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind — usable by guardians at any level of technical comfort.
Three problems shaped the architecture of LimuCheck: who gets access, how fast information travels, and how documents move safely between people.
One of the most complex requirements was ensuring that only legitimate guardians could access student information. A single compromised account could expose sensitive academic and personal data, so verification couldn't be an afterthought — it had to be the foundation of the entire access model.
Parents needed to receive important updates immediately — a late notification is often as good as no notification at all. Firebase Cloud Messaging was integrated to deliver updates the moment they were issued, keeping guardians in the loop without requiring them to actively check the app.
The application supports sharing PDF documents and files between administrators and guardians — academic reports, official notices, and supporting documents. This required careful handling so files remained protected and viewable across both Android and iOS without compatibility issues.
The final product successfully provided a centralized communication platform between the institution and student guardians.
